Steam Refresh V1.2

  1. Parts needed - part kit # A-0087-01

  2. disconnect level probe and temperature probe remove the Over Pressure Valve assembly by disconnecting the drain tube and disconnecting the tube from the boiler loosen steam delivery tube connecitons to the steam boiler
    • disconnect level probe and temperature probe

    • remove the Over Pressure Valve assembly by disconnecting the drain tube and disconnecting the tube from the boiler

    • loosen steam delivery tube connecitons to the steam boiler

    • completely disconnect the steam tubes from the manifold

  3. disconnect the boiler fill valve to manifold connection remove 4 Phillips screws holding manifold in place disconnect drain tube from drain barb
    • disconnect the boiler fill valve to manifold connection

    • remove 4 Phillips screws holding manifold in place

    • disconnect drain tube from drain barb

  4. remove barbed drain fitting from manifold assemble quick disconnect and manifold fittings secure the fitting assembly to the manifold with the supplied crush washer
    • remove barbed drain fitting from manifold

    • assemble quick disconnect and manifold fittings

    • secure the fitting assembly to the manifold with the supplied crush washer

    • set manifold aside for reassembly later

  5. disconnect the drain connection at the steam boiler disconnect vacuum breaker drain tube and remove old tubing manifold
    • disconnect the drain connection at the steam boiler

    • disconnect vacuum breaker drain tube and remove old tubing manifold

    • set tubing assembly aside

  6. remove the fill valve with the inlet tubing  by disconnecting the boiler inlet tube to boiler fitting set the fill valve assembly aside for re-installation later Attach new drain tubing to the quick disconnect fitting on the valve
    • remove the fill valve with the inlet tubing by disconnecting the boiler inlet tube to boiler fitting

    • set the fill valve assembly aside for re-installation later

    • Attach new drain tubing to the quick disconnect fitting on the valve

    • be sure to press the tubing together completely

    • fit the drain valve and tubing assembly into the module and tighten the connection to the boiler

  7. manipulate valve and tubing to allow space around the valve and solenoid use care when bending copper tubes connect drain valve solenoid wiring into the topmost 4 pin connector on the boiler side of the firewall marked P8

    • use care when bending copper tubes

    • connect drain valve solenoid wiring into the topmost 4 pin connector on the boiler side of the firewall marked P8

    • If your electrical connections are not labeled, use the upper connection

    • reinstall fill valve assembly by reconnecting the inlet tube to boiler fitting

    • be sure to leave space between the P8 connection and the boiler fill tube

  8. connect new drain tube to quick disconnect fitting on manifold be sure to press the tubing together completely reconnect manifold to module
    • connect new drain tube to quick disconnect fitting on manifold

    • be sure to press the tubing together completely

    • reconnect manifold to module

    • reconnect fill valve and steam outlet tubes to manifold

  9. tighten steam delivery tube connections to the Steam boiler trim and assemble new drain tubes with the T connector in place to receive the drain from the Over Pressure Valve cup Be attentive to the tube lengths. If you need more tubing, reuse the old drain tubing
    • tighten steam delivery tube connections to the Steam boiler

    • trim and assemble new drain tubes with the T connector in place to receive the drain from the Over Pressure Valve cup

    • Be attentive to the tube lengths. If you need more tubing, reuse the old drain tubing

    • reinstall the Over Pressure Valve cup

    • make adjustments to the tubing to avoid kinks, folds and pinches

  10. reattach the fill probe wire and temp probe wire zip tie drain tubing in place
    • reattach the fill probe wire and temp probe wire

    • zip tie drain tubing in place

  11. reinstall with panels removed to check for leaks on fill, heat and boiler refresh procedure power on in the fill position

    • power on in the fill position

    • allow time for the module to fill before updating the firmware

  12. tap the wrench and screwdriver icon in the lower right corner of the main screen insert USB drive with updated firmware into the USB port on the front of the module and tap the gear icon select update software, follow prompts and allow time for the programming to update.

    • insert USB drive with updated firmware into the USB port on the front of the module and tap the gear icon

    • select update software, follow prompts and allow time for the programming to update.

  13. after the firmware is updated, power cycle the module and remove the USB drive starting from the main home screen, select the wrench and screwdriver icon in the lower right hand corner of the main screen select the wrench and screwdriver icon

    • starting from the main home screen, select the wrench and screwdriver icon in the lower right hand corner of the main screen

    • select the wrench and screwdriver icon

    • select advanced

  14. select page 2 select enable boiler refresh save and exit
    • select page 2

    • select enable boiler refresh

    • save and exit

  15. select the back icon in the upper left corner select the back icon in the upper left corner one more time tap the home icon
    • select the back icon in the upper left corner

    • select the back icon in the upper left corner one more time

    • tap the home icon

    • the boiler refresh option is now enabled

    • turn power to position 2 to heat and pressurize the module for testing

  16. select the boiler refresh feature on the module display to begin the refresh process
    • select the boiler refresh feature on the module display to begin the refresh process

    • The stem boiler heating element will not engage while the boiler refresh feature is engaged.

    • hot water and steam will be purged down the module drain with some force - be sure the drain integrity can handle the pressure and volume

    • deselect the boiler refresh button once the pressure drops to 0.0
